Termination (General)

Probably the most distasteful responsibility of a boss, terminations are also the most challenging because of emotions and legal issues. Reasons for terminating an employee can include performance, misconduct or budgetary constraints. Many bosses are afraid of terminations because of the potential legal pitfalls. With proper preparation and if performed in the right spirit, a termination should not be intimidating and liability can be mitigated.
