With the advent of the internet, laptops, wireless access and other technological advances, it is very easy for many people to work from home.  Telecommuting can be very productive and convenient for both employer and employee. The key ingredient for success is trust by the boss. The best types of tasks and projects that can be performed via telecommuting are those where the output is quantifiable and there isn’t a need for much face-to-face interactions.  An employee who wants to telecommute has to be able to create a similar work environment t as that in the office, including office equipment/supplies and quiet surroundings.
