Managing stress is an essential personal skill. Greater operational responsibilities and more staff will mean more stress for a boss. Not only must you master stress management as a boss, but you will have to coach your subordinates to calmly manage their own stress without adding to your own level.
It isn’t simply the impact on productivity or enjoying the time at work. There is conclusive evidence that not managing stress has very detrimental effects on the body, and can lead to a host of ailments. Make time to de-stress, and resist the urge to be constantly connected to work (phones, emails, etc.).
